The Lee County Democratic Central Committee is pleased to announce one $500 scholarship will be awarded to each of two graduating high school seniors residing in Lee County in the Spring of 2023! The Lee County Democrats strongly support education and job training for Lee County students and are hopeful that these scholarships will bring the recipients one step closer to achieving their goals. Any graduating high school senior who lives in Lee County and plans to attend a 4-year University or College, Community College, Trade School, or Apprenticeship is eligible to apply for the scholarship. Qualifications and Guidelines
- Qualifications: Applicants must be a high school senior who resides in Lee County. Applicants may attend high school outside of Lee County, but they must reside at a Lee County address to be eligible for the scholarship.
- Secondary Education Institutions: Students who will be attending a 4-year University/College, Community College, Trade School, or Apprenticeship Program are eligible for the scholarship.
- Essay: In addition to filling out a short application, students must submit an essay of up to 300 words that discusses their time in high school, their long-term goals, and how a LCDCC scholarship can help them achieve those goals.
- Essay and Application Submission: The deadline for consideration is April 1, 2023. Students may email their applications and essays to email@example.com. If students prefer to submit their applications via the U.S. Postal Service, they can mail their essay and application to Lee County Democrats, PO Box 255, Dixon, IL, 61021 for receipt no later than April 1, 2023.
