One of the best ways to get involved with the Lee County Democratic Party is to become a Democratic Precinct Committee Person (PC)! PCs may be elected or appointed.
Now is the perfect time to consider running to be an elected PC. Signatures must be collected on petitions between January 13, 2022, and mid-March 2022, to allow your name to appear on the June 28, 2022 ballot. You only need 10 signatures from registered voters in your precinct.
After the 2022 primary, you may request to be appointed to a precinct that doesn’t have a PC, even one other than where you live. Simply contact the Chairperson of the Lee County Democrats to express interest in becoming an appointed PC.
PCs are the backbone of the local Democratic Party. They elect the Lee County Democratic Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson. They circulate candidate petitions, recruit election judges, distribute candidate literature, participate in Lee County Democratic Party meetings and activities, receive training, and have access to special events. Both elected and appointed PCs are prohibited from serving as election judges.
We have an energetic and motivated team. We hope you will consider joining us! If you are interested in learning more, contact Dave McCarver, Lee County Democratic Party Chairperson.
